Horton Hears A Who

3955.jpgI have to admit that I went to see this movie without a child so I’m sure I got some weird looks from people. Anyway, I thought this was such a cute movie! It stars Jim Carey as Horton, Steve Carell as Mayor McDodd, Seth Rogen as Morton, Carol Burnett as Kangaroo, Will Arnett as Vlad, Dan Fogler as Councilman, Josh Flitter as Rudy, Charles Osgood as Narrator, & Jesse McCartney as JoJo. This is a story about an elephant who hears voices coming from a speck of pollen. He traps the speck on a clover & talks to the Whos pretty often throughout the movie. I don’t want to give anything away but it ends so right! I recommend this movie to anyone who’s a fan of Seuss’ work or anyone with young children. It was such a light & heartwarming story that took me back to my childhood! I loved it!

Alvin & The Chipmunks

movie2.jpgThis movie is rated PG & I’m not sure why exactly. It stars Jason Lee as Dave, David Cross as Ian, Cameron Richardson as Claire, and of course we can’t forget the voices of Justin Long as Alvin, Matthew Gray Gubler as Simon, and Jesse McCartney as Theodore. This movie was so funny! I loved the fact that the chipmunks sang their own version of “Bad Day” by Daniel Powter at the beginning of the movie…using it as a foreshadow of what’s to come. Let me add also that the animated chipmunks looked pretty real in this movie! Throughout the entire movie the chipmunks long for a family…mainly a parent figure. Let’s just say that I cried & it ended so right! I recommend this movie to families with young kids & to adults who were fans of the chipmunks growing up. As expected, the chipmunks have been modernized a bit but sometimes change is good…especially in this case! They updated the chipmunks’ style…their sweaters now have hoods…and their songs…they now have some backbeats. It’s definitely worth every penny you spend to see it! Go see it in theaters!

enchanted.jpgWe went to see “Enchanted”, the new movie from Disney, yesterday. I loved it! It’s rated PG…not sure why though. It stars Amy Adams as Giselle, Patrick Dempsey as Robert, James Marsden as Prince Edward, Susan Sarandon as Queen Narissa, Timothy Spall as Nathanial, and Rachel Covey as Morgan. It was directed by Kevin Lima who also directed “Tarzan” and “102 Dalmations”. I loved how it started out. All you see is a book on a stand…classic Disney intro. It has a bunch of spoofs from other Disney movies in it. You don’t even really have to pay very close attention to see the spoofs either…which I liked. The perfect balance of Disney romance & comedy was shown. Definitely a great movie! I recommend this movie to Disney fans everywhere! Hope y’all enjoy it as much as I did! Let me know your thought on the movie!

Bee Movie

bee1.jpgThis is the movie that I was supposed to go see with my friends & their youth group but that didn’t work out. I did however get to see it the next day. It was better than I was expecting but not my fave movie ever. It was very anti-human in ways though. It had funny elements & some very odd elements…talking bees that can also talk to humans…weird! It stars Jerry Seinfeld & Renee Zellweger. They are very expressive & are very believable as a bee & a human. They expressed emotion very well through their voices. I was impressed by the animation as well. Some parts when the bees were flying, it felt like I was flying with them! That was pretty cool! It’s rated PG for some crude humor. I recommend this movie to anyone who liked Shrek or any Pixar film. I don’t recommend seeing it in theaters because it wasn’t that great, but definitly rent it when it comes out on DVD…it’s at least worth that much!
